The Decorating Diaries | Day 1

This little project is the reason why I have absolutely no time to do anything. If you have no idea what's going on, take a look at my previous blog post here to find out.

Long story short, I am decorating my new bedroom and I have decided to share the progress with you all! After the last decorating project, I swore I would never hold a paint brush in my hand again. Unfortunately I'm here again, Paint brush in hand. 

Day 1 consisted of a little trip to B&Q to get the paint and a new light as my dad destroyed the last one with my sisters wardrobe (long story). I went for the second swatch in Jasmine White as it definitely looked the best out of the three (most of you on Instagram agreed).

It took me and my dad about 4 hours to get the first coat on and when we finished it was hello patchy-ville. I was so tired I seriously debated whether to just leave it like that and claim the rustic look. 

Despite my lack of energy and deformed painting hand, I soldiered on. I managed to get one more coat on one of the walls before the first tub of paint ran out. I then called it a night, had a bath (which I nearly fell asleep in) and went to bed.

The second coat doesn't look too bad and gives me a bit of hope that all will be well. It can be a bit disheartening when you put so much effort in and it still looks awful. But I have faith and determination, those walls will be white!
