Decorating Diaries | Day 5

I had a day off from decorating yesterday and it was lush. I ate a whole bar of Dairy Milk Nutty Caramel and did absolutely nothing!
Unfortunately it was back to work today. My dad very kindly dismantled my bed (which was easier than expected) and put it back together in my newly decorated room.
We started to paint the top and bottom boards and realised rather quickly that it wasn't going to be easy. The paint was becoming thick and gloopy and just wasn't going on smoothly. Cue a mad dash to B&Q for a solution!

We decided we probably should have applied a primer before, so decided to get a special undercoat to put on. This proved a major success woo hoo!!
Despite having multiple coats it still looks a little streaky BUT it does give it a nice rustic effect, which I actually really like!

So not only is my bed now officially finished (even though I have to sleep on my mattress on the floor tonight whilst the paint dries) but I also managed to get my light up as well. It's all coming together now, I can't wait to go to IKEA tomorrow and get a wardrobe and a desk. I can finally move my furniture in and start buying a few little extras.

  1. Yay, you're finally done after 5 days! And you finally got the walls all white, heh.

Shopping for furniture at Ikea is definitely significantly much more fun than painting walls; nothing like some new furniture to pull together the room and jazz up your newly painted room :3

    1. I love furniture shopping but IKEA is so frustrating! People walk so slowly and it's like a giant maze you can't get out of quickly! haha x
