Recently over on my Polyvore page I got a little carried away coming up with modern Disney princess sets. This one just so happens to be one of my favourites so I thought I'd share it with you. 

Belle's gold dress was my dream princess dress when I was a kid, I asked for it every Christmas and every year I didn't get it. I did however get a yellow Power Rangers costume so that sort of made up for my lack of dress. With this outfit I wanted to keep the elegance that Belle portrays in the films but give it a modern edge, I always think of Blair Waldorf from Gossip Girl when I look at this. 

I really do love this dress but I definitely think it's a love or hate situation. Mustard yellow get's a bad rep but I think with the right styling it can look pretty classic. I especially love the bag, which I thought fitted perfectly what with Belle being French and all. But alas this is yet another rather pricey ensemble that mere mortals like me will never get their hands on. There's nothing wrong with wanting to dress like a princess at any age though right?
