February Non-Beauty Favourites

As you can probably see from the above picture I loved my reading material in February. I'm currently trying to get through all the books I've wanted to read before their movies ruin the plots for me. In the mean time I've also been buying a lot of magazines, adding to my pile of leisurely reading. I mentioned in my TMI Tag video that I'm currently reading Gone Girl and I can now report that I've gotten to a very interesting milestone in the book which has just turned everything on its head. If you haven't read Gone Girl yet and you love a good crime thriller, get going to your local bookshop and pick it up because it is truly amazing.

The other two literary loves of February are LOVE magazine and Photocrafty. First off, LOVE magazines S/S14 edit is possibly the most beautiful magazine I have ever seen. If you have never heard of LOVE it is a fashion magazine with the odd bit of art, film, photography and music all thrown in to create an urban magazine masterpiece. The articles are intelligent and interesting and the photography is stunning. Then we have Photocrafty, a reference book for any DSLR owner and photography fanatic. This book shows you a plethora of amazing and fun things to do with your SLR, from making light rings for your flash, creating light writing and also the basics like photographing at night. It really is just a fun little book that you can use to experiment with photography and get some really cool and unique photographs.

Moving away from the reading material we have my brand spanking new Dr Martens. If you've been following me for a while you may know that I got Docs at the end of last year. Since then I was showing them as much love as I could, stretching them out and softening the leather so that I could enjoy them without them destroying my feet. However, despite my efforts, my right foot just wouldn't give, it continued to rub and pinch despite my left foot feeling comfy and unharmed. Then one day I put them on, determined to give them another go, when I noticed that my right foot was slightly shorter and narrower than my left. With further inspection I deduced that they were in fact two different styles and not a pair of shoes. So off I toddled with my receipt to Schuh ready for a fight, they didn't give me one and instead were very helpful and replaced my mismatching Docs with a brand new pair! So now the stretching and softening begins all over again but I love having a pair that are actually a pair.

And finally we have music. My new favourite website is Soundcloud and I've discovered an amazing producer called Kygo who does awesome remixes. He's done a few but my favourites have to be 'I See Fire' and 'Electric Feel'. I fully recommend you check him out and some of his mixes are free to download so what are you waiting for!

What books, music and fashion have you been loving? Have you ever bought shoes that weren't actually a pair or is it just me?
