Contouring Products For Pale Skin

Contouring on pale skin is an absolute nightmare, you're either too careful and it doesn't look as though you've actually done anything or the product you've used is too dark (the most common problem) and gives you big brown stripes on your face. It takes some searching and lots of experimenting but it is possible to find the perfect fair skin contour products.

I have found the perfect contouring combo, one powder product and one cream product to give me full contouring versatility. The NYX blush in Taupe is a perfect light taupe shade that mimics natural shadow perfectly, this is slightly pink toned and when used in the right areas of the face it looks flawless. The next product is one that I always recommend, the Illamasqua Cream Pigment in Hollow. This blends out like a dream, it's more yellow toned than the NYX blush but it gives just as good results, this would be better if you have dry skin rather than the powder option.

To apply the powder I use the Real Techniques Contour Brush, which comes in the face kit, it is super fluffy so blends out the powder product superbly. For the cream product I use the Real Techniques Expert Face brush, the denseness of this brush allows me to really work in the cream product and makes sure everything is blended out to perfection.

Do you have fair skin and have trouble with contouring? What are your HG contour products?

  1. I haven't tried Hollow yet (other than swatched it in the store) but I was thoroughly disappointed with Taupe - I didn't like the shade and the pigmentation was poor. I do however love my Too Faced Chocolate Soleil bronzer (in Milk chocolate - the lighter version) for contouring or bronzing up the skin. :)

  3. I have really fair skin and struggle (my laptop just corrected that to stubble, I don't have stubble) with contouring so I just don't tend to do it, but I really want to try these out! Thank you for sharing!! xx
