Current Spring/Summer Essentials

It's so beautiful and sunny today that it got me thinking about all the things that I've been loving since the weather started to brighten up. I've noticed a big change from the clothes that I wear to the makeup and perfume that I put on and everything seems to be lighter and brighter.

Let's start with beauty items shall we? First of all is the bronzer, before I found The Body Shop Honey Bronzer last summer I stayed well away. As a fair skinned creature, bronzer was always that scary product that would make me look like an Oopma Loompa. This product has really changed my outlook; I can't stop using this now, as it's the perfect shade for pale skin. Next up we have my all time favourite S/S lippy, the Revlon Lip Butter in Juicy Papaya. The lip butters are such a comfy formula to wear, especially if you're like me and have super dry lips. Juicy Papaya is a gorgeous sheer coral and feels so comfy on the lips and is perfect for those sunnier days.

Moving on to nails, I'm not a massive fan of the Butter London formula but I have to say that their nail polish in Jasper is by far the most beautiful yellow polish I have ever seen. I find that yellow polish can look too harsh with my skin tone but this pastel yellow is perfect and will continue to be my favourite S/S polish for a very long time. Then finally for beauty we have the Lanvin Eclat D'Arpage Eau De Parfum. This was sent to me by Harvey Nichols just when I was about to run out of all of my other perfumes, I was a little wary as I'd never tried anything from Lanvin before but after one sniff I'm in love. I've never been a particularly floral or fruity fragrance kind of girl, I prefer my perfumes to have a bit more spice to them and this suits me to a T. It has that slight floral edge making it perfect for spring but is also deep and seductive, not to mention it comes in a beautiful Art Deco bottle, I have a lot of Art Deco style pieces in my bedroom so this fits in nicely.

Now for the more miscellaneous items. For fashion it has to be my beloved Converse, they go with anything and everything, keep my feet nice and cool and are the comfiest shoes I have ever owned. I was going to try and get cheaper versions but decided that my other pairs of Converse have lasted for years so why not spend a little extra if I'm going to be wearing them to death. Then there's the room fragrance, I am a bit of a candle addict and this is the giant Yankee candle I have in my room at the moment. Waikiki Melon smells deliciously fresh and fruity and gives my bedroom a really summery smell; it always cheers me up especially when the sun is blaring through my window. Last but by no means least it is the Fujifilm Instax Mini 8 camera. I've loved Polaroids for years and when these new cameras came out I took the chance to own a pretty pastel blue one. It is a little on the chunky side but it fits into my handbag no problem, it's fun to play with and is great to take to festivals to capture those muddy, sunburnt memories.

What are your Spring/Summer essentials? Are you going to any festivals this year?
