The summer sun is just around the corner and it's around this time of year we like to get out our best highlighters. I'm one of those people who will either go OTT with the highlight or will be so lazy I won't even bother. Saying that, I do have my 'Go tos'.
For a bronze shimmer when the weather is a little warmer and I want to look like a golden-bronzed goddess (I never achieve that goal), I reach for my trusty MAC Mineralize Skinfinsh in Soft & Gentle. It has the most amazing yet subtle highlight with a bronze base and gold shimmer. It's not glitter ball style shimmer it's just a nice soft glow.
Then we have the pinker highlight, the Soap & Glory Glow All Out. I like to recommend this to very fair skins because it is not overly pigmented but gives a gorgeous pink toned shimmer to pale cheeks. When I look in the bathroom mirror I find it hard to tell I've even put it on, but as soon as I step out into the bright light of day I can really see just how pretty this is.
Finally we have my love/hate highlight, Topshop's Glow highlight in Polished. I really hate the consistency of this highlight and I personally find it really hard to work with (despite the fact every blogger I talk to loves this stuff). I do love it for highlighting eyes and lips though, not so much the tops of the cheeks. This gives a really nice soft gold highlight to the cupid's bow or the brow bone and seems to be much better worked in smaller areas.
All three are a must have for me; they cover all the bases I would want a highlighter to cover. What highlights would you recommend? Have you tried my top 3?
