Dabble In Yoga

I've already talked about my obsession with meditation and how much it helps me. Moving on from that, I thought I'd try my hand at Yoga. Yoga is something that I've dabbled in in the past and I've always been fairly flexible so it's never been too much of a challenge. However, over the past few months my exercise regime has been speeding down hill.

I wanted to try some form of exercise that was a little gentler on the old knees (I've basically screwed them up from running) and something that will help get me back to my stretchy self. I headed to the app store to see if I could find any good Yoga apps that would help me practice Yoga at home and voila! I managed to find an app called Yoga Studio which catered to all of my at home Yoga needs.

You do have to pay a one off fee for this app, but in my opinion it is completely worth it. It allows you to download classes to cater to specific needs or levels. I have pretty much all of the beginner essentials classes and they come in 15-30 minute sessions that you follow along with. You can also look up a specific pose to find out exactly what benefits it has. This has to be my favourite feature, I like knowing why I'm doing a pose and what it is doing for my body.

If you're looking for a gentle, at home workout, I would definitely recommend purchasing a comfy Yoga mat and having a go. You don't have to download an app, you can go on Pinterest and print off some simple moves to try! It is great to take time out of your day and really concentrate on your body and your breathing. Not only do you feel that post-workout feeling afterwards, you also get a sneaky bit of meditation in there as well.
