Organise Your Thoughts

Sometimes the answer to life's problems is to have a good mental clearout. It doesn't matter if you have a brain filled with dates and times of appointments, creative ideas for stories, art, music, or even if you are just having a self-deprecating kind of day. The best way to clear the mind is to grab a pen and transfer them onto paper.

I have three main 'thought outlets', the most used one being a trusty notepad. In fact, I have so many it's become a bit of a family joke. As I'm a blogger and YouTuber I have to have a million and one notepads so that I can get any ideas that might pop up, down on paper quickly. I do tend to forget my ideas, so it's super handy when it comes to filming and photography days, to have a list of everything I want to cover.

The second one is my lovely Paperchase diary. I try and use this as much as possible, but sometimes I fail miserably. I do however use it to keep various important bits of information I might need on the go. This makes sure I don't miss appointments, doctors, dentists, that sort of thing. There is nothing worse than that feeling of feeling like you've forgotten to do something.

The final one is my journal. I've spoken about this before in a YouTube video, this lovely red leather journal houses many a (not so great) thought. This was my most used tool when I was suffering badly with depression and it helped enormously to have somewhere to work out my thoughts and feelings. It's not just a book of doom and gloom though! I also have some inspirational quotes and doodles that I like to look at when I need a spot of life motivation.

It is amazing how much power writing down your thoughts and feelings can have on your overall mental health. Having a clear and de-cluttered mind helps it process better and get rid of all the stress building up inside. If you haven't given it a try yet, I highly recommend you do and it means some stationary shopping, which is always fun!

Let me know in the comments how you keep your thoughts in check, do you have a daily diary to help you schedule or maybe a journal?

P.S. I also have a blog sale happening right now! Just head to the top navigation bar to go to my blog sale page.
