Benefit Porefessional Primer Review

Whenever you read an article about the best primers going, Benefit Porefessional makes the cut every time. When I first heard about this product I thought 'ooo my pores are huge! I'll take some of that' so I rushed (well, I drove at a leisurely pace) down to my local department store to purchase it. When I got there, however I found that it was ridiculously tiny. This little guy is only a mere 22ml of nude coloured creamy gel, all for a whopping £24.50.

Now I'm not a snob when it comes to high-end makeup, I don't mind paying the money if it gives me flawless results, but this just didn't live up to the hype. I haven't noticed it making my pores small and unnoticeable, in fact, I haven't even noticed it making my makeup stay on longer.

The oil free formula just doesn't work for my skin, it makes my skin feel super duper soft, which is lovely, but it also makes my skin feel dry and parched. It feels uncomfortable to wear no matter how little or how much I put on and overall I'm just not really taken with it. If you're looking for a drugstore dupe I would definitely go for the GOSH Velvet Touch Primer, it's not the same nude colour, but to be honest that has no effect on the actual outcome of the product anyway. It makes your skin equally as silky smooth, but it's light and doesn't dry out my skin.

So unfortunately I'm not a fan. I'm sure there will be many of you shouting at your computer screens, mobiles and tablets right now telling me I'm wrong, but this just isn't the primer for me.

Have you tired Porefessional yet? Do you think it's worth the hype surrounding it?

Get Photoready | Revlon Photoready Primer

I have been a busy busy bee these last couple of days due to moving back to University. But now that I'm settled in my snazzy new halls (pictures to come) I'm getting back into the swing of things. So let's get going with this review shall we?

I ran out of my beloved Seventeen Photo Flawless Primer and decided to branch out into something slightly higher in price. The Revlon Photoready primer has had pretty positive reviews so I thought I'd give it a little test run.
It is an unusual texture, not creamy like the Rimmel primer but not a gel like the Seventeen primer. It has a mousse consistency which makes it pretty much suitable for oily to dry skin types. It doesn't feel greasy on the skin and also doesn't take forever to settle like the Rimmel primer, you can put your foundation on pretty much straight away. It also comes with a pump (maybe Revlon should think of putting pumps on more of their products *hint* *hint*) which makes it super easy to get the right amount of product.
I've used this with a few different foundations and I have to say that it works wonders with the Nars Sheer Glow. The Sheer Glow foundation isn't one of my faves, but this really helps to give a smooth flawless look. It also works pretty well in making my foundation last all day, I worked in a pretty warm busy environment and my foundation didn't look patchy or cakey at the end of a long 8 hour shift.
The only real problem I have with this is the smell. I like any product which is applied to the face to either be completely odorless or softly fragranced, this however smells like emulsion paint. It has a strong chemical smell when being applied, but it soon fades so your face wont smell like paint don't worry.

This has to be one of my favourite primers to date, it does everything a primer should do and is pretty great for any skin type, even sensitive!
