Benefit They're Real Mascara Review

I recently did a video review of the much loved Benefit They’re Real Mascara and thought I’d do a more detailed review on this here blog.

So I want to start of saying that I do love this mascara, I just feel like you can get equally good mascaras in drugstores.

I love the packaging; it’s sleek and fits nicely in the hand. Perfect size for a makeup/handbag as it’s not too bulky. I don’t think it looks overly expensive, not if you compare it to mascaras like the YSL Shocking mascara, which looks pretty expensive.

I really really love the wand, it’s a great size and the added bristles on the tip means it coats every single lash possible. It reaches all the hard to reach places to give every lash length and volume. If you’re like me and like to get your wand right to the roots of the lashes, you may notice a slight prickly sensation. Because the bristles are quite stiff, it can feel a bit prickly close to the lid.

The actual product is a really nice consistency, not too thick and very easy to work with. You can build this mascara up to a degree, after the second coat however you are bordering clump-ville.

It definitely gives a false lash look whereas it really gives you mega mega volume. Like I said in my video review, I have pretty long lashes naturally so most mascaras make my lashes look longer. I do still notice a bit of added length with this mascara however I think if you have short lashes this will be your perfect product. On shorter lashes the lengthening aspect will be much more noticeable.

Overall I do love this product, however I wouldn’t purchase it again. I don’t see the need to spend that much on mascara because there are so many amazing drugstore alternatives.

What do you think of the Benefit They’re Real Mascara? Worth the hype or no?
